The government will require all Internet users to identify themselves before registering, The Voice of Vietnam reported, citing a statement by the country’s Deputy Minister of Information Nguyen Thanh Lam.
The law will help investigative authorities identify malicious users, and the rules will apply to both domestic and foreign platforms, including TikTok and YouTube. Anonymous accounts will be dealt with separately, Nguyen Thanh Lam said.
