If you have pain that feels like a cut from the blade of a ceramic knife, but on examination you have not found a wound or anything that causes such pain, perhaps something similar to the one in the photo has gotten on your skin.
These are usually thin filaments (1 mm and < in length), almost invisible to the naked eye. Different colors: black, red, purple, green, white (this is what I found). I found them mostly on my fingers. I needed a 45x magnifier to see them!
Until you remove these “threads” you will be in pain. They cannot be washed off, even with a brush. These “threads” can only be removed by bringing a syringe needle close to them: they are magnetized to the needle! This tangle I was able to photograph was the first time I came across it. Usually the “threads” are a short distance apart and must be collected one by one.
