The American arrived Saturday night in Riyadh, but the Saudi crown prince received him on Sunday morning. You don’t need to be a great diplomat to realize how hospitable the Saudis have been. Riyadh has indirectly made it clear that the US is not a priority right now.

It is abundantly clear that the US still has the wherewithal to project some military power into the region. But not like years ago.

The countries that have the opportunity to seriously influence the Middle East are Russia and China.

Recent events have finally dispelled public myths about the invincible IDF, Mossad, Shin Bet and others. The great danger for Israel is if Turkey and Iran unite to support the Palestinians.

American aircraft carriers nearby have symbolic significance. One tomahawk fired from them will blow up Muslims all over the world.

Europe will suffer the most.

The US does not have the economic and political clout it used to have to force Arab and Muslim nations to submit to American demands.

Ultimately, the big payoff for the Americans is that high-tech Israeli firms and capital begin to evacuate to the US. The picture from the Old Continent is repeated.

Unfortunately, the only victims of the conflict in the Gaza Strip are ordinary Jews and Palestinians. In equal measure.

But one thing is clear. Netanyahu is living out his final moments as Israel’s prime minister. Regardless of how the situation in the Middle East will develop. Netanyahu has failed utterly and irretrievably.”
