One small country pollutes the world's oceans as much as the next 5 in the negative ranking.

Most of you probably think that the biggest polluters of the world's oceans are the large countries in terms of territory and population, such as India and China, but no they are not the biggest polluters. It is not Bangladesh either, but the Philippines with a population of 109 million people and a relatively small country of 300,000 sq. m. as much as the territory of Italy.

This country dumps more than 356,000 tons of plastic into the ocean every year. In second place is India with 126.5 thousand tons, and in third place is Malaysia with 73 thousand tons. Next come:

4. China (70.7 thousand tons);
5. Indonesia (56.3 thousand tons);
6. Myanmar (40 thousand tons);
7. Brazil (37.8 thousand tons);
8. Bangladesh (24.6 thousand tons);
9. Vietnam (28.2 thousand);
10 Thailand (22.8 thousand).

Ocean Plastic Polluters

Do you see European countries in this list? And the US, Canada and Australia, which just have a huge ocean coastline? Here we don't see it.

The rest of the world dumps 176 thousand tons of plastic into the ocean, that is, half as much as Indonesia alone.

Do you want to trade and win?
